Welcome to the Downtown Rochelle Association.  
     It is the goal of the DRA to revitalize our historic downtown district, and to promote growth and expansion of all Rochelle businesses, through organization, promotion, and coordination within our membership.  The DRA, working together with governmental bodies, local committees, the Rochelle Tourism Board and the Lincoln Highway Coalition, intends to actively pursue opportunities for continually improving downtown Rochelle as a destination for shopping, dining, entertainment, business activity, and community services.

     The Downtown Rochelle Association is governed by a nine person board.  In 2006 the organization sponsored two retail events including Maxwell Street Days in June, Wish Upon A Star in November.  The DRA participated with the City, the Chamber, and other organizations to provide the Christmas Parade, Walk and other holiday activities.  Future events will include art in the park, historic building walks/plaques, and a flea market.

     The organization has begun long term planning initiatives for streetscape updates, historic facade standards, additional housing opportunities, seasonal decorations, and economic development activities.

     The DRA is open to any bsiness or individual interested in supporting the efforts of its members to keep the downtown a successful and viable part of the community.

Membership Rights:

 A voting member (B-1 business owner or designee, B-1 property owner or designee, or an interested community person) will receive all communications from the Board of Directors, will be welcome to participate in any activities and meetings of the general membership, and will qualify to vote on organization issues plus the budget, officers, and any bylaw changes at the annual meeting.

 
A non-voting member (supporting member) will receive all communications from the Board of Directors and will be welcome to participate in any activities and meetings of the general membership.
